How can the EU deliver clean, reliable and affordable energy?

The EU’s future energy system needs to be clean, reliable and affordable – but getting there won’t be straightforward. With major bets on renewables, the EU is doubling down on storage, a more European grid in terms of planning, financing and operation, and more flexible demand.

In the near term, lower gas prices may also provide some relief. Will this all add up to more competitive electricity prices, and will European citizens and industry benefit in practice? In this Lab session, we will delve into answering this key question by addressing a series of factors that will shape the future of the EU’s energy system.
