What measures are needed to ensure that Europe’s industry can prosper and remain competitive globally? In this session, CEPS experts will present the main recommendations of the Industrial Policy Task Force, which ran from November 2020 to May 2021. A wide range of different policy domains was covered in these discussions, from agriculture to energy and the Green Deal, digital transition strategic value chains, the future of competition policy and trade, policies for jobs and skills, and possible actions in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. Numerous recommendations are addressed to the EU institutions and member states, to ensure that systemic industrial transformation becomes an engine of future resilience and sustainability in the EU and beyond.

Over to Youth: New Voices for a post-Covid World

This high-level roundtable will mark the end of a week of activities undertaken by CEPS brilliant Young Thinkers, focusing on the Future of Europe and citizen engagement. Throughout the Ideas Lab, the Young Thinkers will take part in guided foresight sessions where they will build possible scenarios for the future of EU democracy, drawing on the main internal and external factors and drivers of European (dis)integration and global governance. The group will also test an innovative mobile app, COCTEAU, designed to enable large-scale citizen engagement and co-creation to support policymakers. The Young Thinkers will formulate proposals and recommendations for the role of citizens and civil society in the EU and present their ideas and policy proposals to our esteemed panellists.
