Anita van den Ende (47) is the Director for Financial Markets and the deputy Director General of the Treasury at the ministry of Finance.
Before she joined the ministry of Finance, she was the Director for Climate, Air and Noise and the deputy Director General for International Affairs and the Environment at the ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment (2015-2017), where she worked on the Paris Agreement on climate change, carbon pricing and the reduction of air pollution and noise disturbance.
She was director of the (European) Competition and Consumer Policy Directorate (2009-2015) and deputy director (European) Industrial Organization (2006-2009) at the Ministry of Economic Affairs. From 2001-2006 she was (deputy) Head of the Financial Stability Division at the ministry of Finance.
Anita attended the University of Leiden, where she earned a master’s degree in both law and economics. She started working for the government in 1996 as a policy advisor.
