Marcin Stonawski is a scientific officer at the European Commission – Joint Research Centre. He coordinates the activities of a team of researchers working on demography and migration at Centre of Advanced Studies. Prior to joining the JRC he was a Deputy Project Leader in World Population Program at International Institute for Applied System Analysis (IIASA). He holds a PhD from Cracow University of Economics. He was a participant of the International Max Planck Research School for Demography in Rostock (Germany) in 2007/8 and Young Scientists Summer Program at IIASA in 2006. He has published articles in leading scientific journals on demography, religion and human capital. His research interests focus on population and human capital projections, religious demography, changes in beliefs and attitudes, ethno-cultural diversity, migration and spatial segregation, and human capital formation.
