Bart Vandewaetere is member of Nestlé’s Zone EMENA Executive Team. He directly reports to M. Settembri, CEO Nestlé Europe, Middle East and North Africa.
Bart has been heading Nestlé’s European Affairs office since July 2012. He has added Corporate Communications for Nestlé Zone EMENA to his responsibilities since September 2017.
He leads and coordinates Nestlé’s contributions on policies and societal debates with stakeholders across the Zone. His focus is on competitiveness, nutrition, sustainability and youth employability.
Bart has been part of the Steering Group launching the successful “Nestlé needs YOUth” programme in Europe in 2013. He represents Nestlé at the European Platform for Action on Diet, Physical Activity and Health. He is also a strong driver behind Nestlé’s sustainability commitments including plastics, water stewardship and animal welfare.
Bart Vandewaetere is active in key European trade associations such as FoodDrinkEurope and the European Brands Association AIM. Bart is also a Board Member of the European Food Information Council EUFIC.
Bart joined Nestlé in June 2005 as European Affairs Manager after having worked for several years in the Belgian and international dairy trade association environment.
Born in Roeselare, in Belgium, Bart Vandewaetere graduated from the University of Ghent as Master in Food Science and Food Technology.
Married with three children, he speaks Dutch, English and French.
