Andrius Kubilius graduated from Vilnius State University, Faculty of Physics, in 1979. He was Secretary-in-Charge of the Lithuanian Reform Movement Sajūdis in 1990-1992. Andrius Kubilius is a Member of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania since 1992. Twice the Prime Minister (1999-2000 and 2008-2012).
He served as Chairman of the Homeland Union – Lithuania Christian Democrats from 2003 to 2015. In the current legislative term, he is Deputy Chair of the Committee on European Affairs and the Member of the Committee on Budget and Finance.
Since 2015 – member of the International Advisory Council of Reforms to the President of Ukraine; member of the International Advisory Council, IRI, USA; member of the Advisory Board, EuroGrowth Initiative, Atlantic Council, USA. Author of international Initiatives “Marshall Plan for Ukraine” (“European Plan for Ukraine”) and “Ukraine-2027”.
Andrius Kubilius pursues wide-ranging interests: he is interested in political science, history and economics. He served as Chairman of the Policy Committee of the Knowledge Economy Forum from 2001 to 2008, and was Chairman of the Knowledge Society Council under the President of the Republic of Lithuania in 2001-2003.
